One of only 2 lakes in Mahopac where you can operate a motorboat or jetski, Lake Mahopac is also a favorite summer spot for swimming, fishing, water-skiing, wake-boarding and sailing. In winter, residents enjoy ice-skating, ice-fishing and snowmobiling.


Commuter Trains and Routes to New York City

Mahopac is just 45 minutes north of the Bronx, 50 minutes to New York City and 30 minutes to White Plains New York. Mahopac homes are convenient for commuters whether you prefer to drive via Route 6, the Taconic State Parkway or take Metro North Train at Croton Falls. The Croton Falls train goes into Grand Central Station along the Harlem Line with a commute time of about 75 minutes. The Croton Falls Shuttle bus takes commuters from Mahopac to the Train.

Sold homes prices in Mahopac vary from as low as $100,000 co-ops located at Woodcrest Gardens to multi-million dollar estates located on the shores of Lake Mahopac. As of December 2013 the median sales price of single family homes was $343,000 and $255,000 for townhouses and condos. The average days on the market for homes in Mahopac is 160 days.
